IPC's Mid Winter Hackathon is an exciting event that challenges participants to develop innovative solutions to real-world problems using technology. This year’s theme focuses on weather challenges, encouraging teams to create impactful software or web-based solutions that address both everyday and extreme weather conditions.

With climate change leading to more frequent and unpredictable extreme weather events, there is a growing need for technological innovation to help individuals and communities stay informed, prepared, and resilient. Whether it’s through early warning systems, disaster preparedness tools, climate adaptation strategies, or real-time weather insights, this hackathon pushes participants to think critically and build meaningful, user-friendly solutions.

Teams are judged on idea originality, design, functionality, and execution, ensuring that even beginner programmers have an opportunity to shine. Additionally, participants will gain hands-on experience with collaborative development, problem-solving, and the chance to make a real difference in tackling weather-related challenges.

With prizes, recognition, and free stickers for all participants, this hackathon is a fun and rewarding opportunity to innovate, learn, and showcase technical skills!

Required Materials

  • Submit your full project code to Devpost with a clear and structured repository.
  • Strongly recommended to host code on GitHub for better accessibility.
  • If your project is web-based, having a hosted version is encouraged so judges can test it.

✅ Project Video Presentation (~2 min long):

  • A short video explaining your project and its connection to the  theme.
  • Walk through your idea, features, and impact.
  • Be prepared for judges to ask follow-up questions to better understand your project.

✅ Project Description:

  • A written explanation answering our questions
